I have been teaching and practicing Reiki as a Usui Shiki Ryoiho Reiki practitioner and Reiki Master and Teacher since 1988 and have been a member of the Reiki Alliance for 18 years during that time period. I trained in Jikiden Reiki, a Japanese non-Jikiden Usui Reiki system, and I am associated with Jikiden Reiki Kenkyu Kai, Kyoto, Japan. I have taken the Shoden (1st level), Okuden (2nd level) Shihankaku (Apprentice Teacher), and Shihan (Teacher) levels of Jikiden Reiki in 2009 and 2010. I am a fully certified Jikiden Reiki Shihan or Teacher. My lineage in Jikiden Reiki is Mikao Usui--> Chujiro Hayashi --> Wasaburo Sugano --> Chiyoko Yamaguchi --> Tadao Yamaguchi --> me. Chiyoko Yamaguchi began her studies of Reiki with Chujiro Hayashi at the age of 17 in Ishikawa, Japan.

How do you choose a Jikiden Shihan or Teacher to take a Jikiden Reiki seminar from? I suggest that a Jikiden Reiki Shihan/Teacher must be fully certified as a Shihan or Teacher by the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto, Japan and be able with integrity to trace their Jikiden Reiki lineage back Mikao Usui and Chijiro Hayashi through Chiyoko or Tadao Yamaguchi.

What do the individuals I treat with Jikiden Reiki and who take my Reiki Seminars have in common? I usually see a basic compassionate interest in healing others and self. Jikiden Reiki in my experience restores and revitalizes life energy, simply and naturally, leading to balance, wellness, and healing. Will Jikiden Reiki work for you? I treat whole persons, not conditions, but in my personal & clinical experience Jikiden Reiki can help with:

Cancer survival: surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, other cancer therapies
In April 2005 I was diagnosed with State IV-A ovarian cancer. My CA-125 count was 1500 (0-30 is considered normal). My cancer had metastized to my left lung which had filled completely with pleural fluid. All of the other organs normally on the left side of my body including my heart were pushed to the right hand side. I underwent multiple thoracentesis, paracentesis, extensive debulking surgery, and chemotherapy. Then I participated for 2 years in a double-blind drug trial. Throughout all this time I received an unquantifiable number of distant Reiki treatments from fellow Reiki teachers. As a result I believe I have been in complete remission from my cancer for 6 years and my current CA-125 count is 6. Although some might term my testimony anecdotal rather than scientific, I would highly recommend Reiki as a complementary alternative medicine to conventional cancer treatment. Reiki supports the body's own latent self-healing ability.
